Vanderbilt Coach Kevin Stallings accepts blame for loss
“We had the wrong guys doing the wrong things. Guys weren’t playing to their strengths and that’s my fault,” Stallings said. “It’s my fault that I had guys in a position where they are not ordinarily successful.”
Some was caused by Mississippi State’s tenacious defense that often took Vanderbilt out of its comfort zone all day on offense.
A prime example was the clamp-down job Shelbyville’s Barry Stewart did on Vanderbilt freshman John Jenkins.
