Republican women’s inaugural Tea Party draws 150 to George County

LUCEDALE, Miss. — About 150 people — including Republican politicians and their supporters — gathered on the lawn of the George County Courthouse on Saturday afternoon for the George County Republican Women’s inaugural Tea Party and political rally.
Speakers warned against a “spend more, tax more” government mentality, and attendees held signs such as ones reading “You can’t fix stupid, but you can vote it out,” and “Don’t mess with my doctor.”
Kerry Tegerdine, whose husband Joe Tegerdine of Petal is running for the U.S. House of Representatives, illustrated a “taxed enough already” situation by describing a weekend hunting trip made nearly impossible because of taxes on nearly every activity and purchase.
