AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — The father of Auburn quarterback Tyrik Rollison says the redshirt freshman will transfer.
Michael Kelly said Wednesday that Rollison will leave Auburn for Sam Houston State in his home state of Texas.
Rollison was one of the top recruits in coach Gene Chizik’s first recruiting class. He was redshirted last season and was suspended before the Outback Bowl.
Rollison was expected to be in the mix for Auburn’s starting quarterback job this spring. The Tigers signed junior college transfer Cameron Newton in December.
