Auburn, Gene Chizik fill needs with Top 5 recruiting class
We’re back with more Auburn recruiting this Thursday morning. Why not? People seem to like it. We’re here with the second part of coach Gene Chizik’s recruiting press conference from Wednesday. Part I is here. We also have the Auburn recruiting story that appears in Thursday’s Birmingham News.

AUBURN — Gene Chizik said recruiting Alabama will always be his first priority, but the Auburn coach gambled he could make successful raids throughout the Southeast for some of the nation’s top football talent on National Signing Day 2010.
He cashed in.
Armed with the top player each in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, Chizik’s first full recruiting season landed the Tigers a Top 5 national recruiting class and plenty of national recruiting buzz Wednesday. It was one of Auburn’s best national finishes ever.
“This was a great day for Auburn,” Chizik said.
