#10 – Mississippi-01 Travis Childers (D)

Democrats are ecstatic that Republicans will now have a primary between state Sen. Alan Nunnelee (R) and ex-Eupora Mayor Henry Ross (R). Not only does it distract Nunnelee, the front-runner, from directing all of his firepower against the vulnerable Childers, but it also has the potential to re-create a geographic battle that the GOP fought in ’08, one that severely damaged the party’s chances of winning. Can Ross raise the cash to repeat the scenario? If he can, the GOP will give another gift to Childers, who sits in an otherwise very dangerous seat.
