Cornyn: ‘Trent Lott Resigned. Harry Reid Should Resign.’
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), called on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to resign his leadership post on Monday for making “racially tinged” comments about President Barack Obama during the 2008 campaign.
“Trent Lott resigned. Harry Reid should resign,” said Cornyn on MSNBC.
Cornyn, who made his comments on the debut episode of “The Daily Rundown,” is the latest GOP leader to call for Reid’s resignation. Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, called for Reid’s resignation on Sunday.
