Seattle Seahawks: Pete Carroll to Sign as Coach

Well, it certainly looks like the Seattle Seahawks didn’t take very long to find a replacement for the recently fired coach Jim Mora. According to latimes.com, former USC coach Pete Carroll has now accepted the Seattle Seahawks coaching job.

Carroll is now expected to sign a contract on Monday, and then be introduced as the Seahawks coach on Tuesday. The Seahawks are believed to have offered Carroll a five-year contract, which would pay him nearly $33 million.

There were a few obstacles along the way, but Carroll, who led the Trojans to a 97-19 record and seven Pacific 10 Conference championships in the nine seasons as coach, met with Seahawks officials in Los Angeles on Sunday to complete the deal.
