Cameron Newton joins Auburn QB race
AUBURN — The race to be Auburn’s starting quarterback next season may have taken a dramatic turn Thursday when the No. 1 junior college player in the nation signed with the Tigers.
Cameron Newton, who began his college career as backup to Tim Tebow at Florida, will enroll at Auburn next week and join an array of quarterbacks hoping to replace Chris Todd as the starter next season. Todd will play his final college game in the Outback Bowl today.
