Scolding coaches for questioning calls won’t cut it in SEC

A parade of SEC coaches has blasted league officiating over the last two weeks, using phrases ranging from “magical flags” to “embarrassment.”

The league has responded with the dreaded … public reprimand.
Now that is putting the hammer down!
If the league wants its coaches to stop publicly questioning its referees, it must hand down tougher punishments. Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino, Mississippi State Coach Dan Mullen, Tennessee Coach Lane Kiffin and even Vanderbilt Coach Bobby Johnson have voiced their displeasure because they know they can get away with it.
