New motto energizes Auburn football team
AUBURN — The team motto that Gene Chizik unveiled for the 2009 season is straightforward and direct, with a little bit of creative marketing mixed in — just like its inventor.
“Do What We Do,” is the slogan. “DWWD” is the abbreviation that is now inscribed on bracelets, T-shirts and towels.
“It means exactly what it says,” said receiver Tim Hawthorne.
“It’s probably elementary,” acknowledged Chizik, almost apologetically.
