McCalebb, Tate form tough duo for opposition

AUBURN — True freshman Onterio McCalebb had more yards and more carries than senior Ben Tate in the season’s very first game.
Awkward?
Hardly.
Tate, burdened with a sluggish offense for much of the last season and a half, was more than happy to share the good feelings that came with 556 yards of total offense and 301 rushing yards in Saturday’s 37-13 season-opening win over against Louisiana Tech.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen something like that for an Auburn offense,” Tate said. “There’s still a lot of things we have to correct. We should have had 700 yards of offense, 400 yards rushing.”
