UA, Saban profit from extension
How much are 12 football wins a year worth to the people in control of the checkbook at the University of Alabama? Based on the new contract extension for head coach Nick Saban, the answer would seem to be more than $4 million a year.
That’s $333,000 per win, assuming that last year’s 12-2 season is going to remain the norm over the next nine years. Unless your name rhymes with Jill Bates, that figure has to sound like an obscene amount of money.
