The Reinvention of Michael Vick
The Reinvention of Michael Vick
Michael Vick poses a number of problems for any NFL team that might consider signing him. Some of them, obviously, involve public relations.
But the conversation going on right now among the league’s football specialists centers on a more pedestrian issue: What position he should play.
Setting aside his dog-fighting conviction, his 19-month layoff in prison and the question of whether NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will allow him to be fully reinstated, Mr. Vick could very likely be had for the league’s minimum salary of $620,000 a year. That, by way of comparison, is like paying for a Honda Civic and taking delivery of a Lamborghini.
