UM’s Britton, hot comet on tennis radar, turns pro

Devin Britton has the game. He has the look. He has the work ethic. He has that special extra intangible precious few athletes possess: the ability to be at his best when it matters most.
He has what I call, for lack of a better term, it.

And now, at the ridiculously early age of 18, he has the tennis resume to go with it, as well.
Wednesday’s announcement that Britton has turned pro should come as no surprise to anyone, least of all his Ole Miss coach Billy Chadwick.
It did not.
You should know that Chadwick could not have been more upbeat Wednesday.
“I’m just so proud of him, so proud for him,” Chadwick said by phone from Oxford. “I’m proud of what he has done for Ole Miss tennis and for tennis in general in Mississippi.
