Urban Meyer still has four years remaining on a contract that will pay him more than $13 million during that period of time to be the head football coach at the University of Florida.
But, believe it or not, hands are wringing and throats are clearing as some followers of the program dare to ask: “Is it enough?”
That’s the difficult situation Florida officials find themselves in, heading into the dog days of summer. Meyer has a deal to coach at Florida and he’s been respectful — and quiet — about money. But Alabama coach Nick Saban and LSU coach Les Miles both have deals worth more than $500,000 over Meyer’s current contract.
