Leflore County Court Judge Solomon Osborne removed
he Mississippi Supreme Court has ordered the removal of Leflore County Court Judge Solomon Osborne for the mishandling of a case involving a juvenile.
The action, ordered in a 7-2 decision Thursday, had no effect because Osborne resigned in May 2008.
The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance had sought Osborne’s removal from office for his actions in a case involving a juvenile who had pointed a gun at another youth in 2006.
According to the court record, Osborne ordered another judge to hear the case, which the commission said Osborne had no authority to do once he removed himself from presiding.
