Spell outlines state ag industry, department’s roles
Dr. Lester Spell Jr., Mississippi’s commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, knows a thing or two about buying gasoline and offered some advice Monday.
Spell made a multi-media presentation to the Starkville Rotary Club, providing an overview on Mississippi agriculture and the functions of the department he’s been elected to oversee, one of which is regulating and enforcing petroleum laws.
After Monday’s meeting, Spell clarified his points about gasoline purchasing.
He says he recommends people keep receipts in case a problem develops with the gas they buy as the department follows up on bad gas or calibration complaints.
Plus, “always make sure to come back” to a gas station where gas is being loaded to allow time for the product to settle, he said.
