Shaking the sand out of my notepad from the four-day Southeastern Conference spring meetings that ended Friday in Destin, Fla. … Few chancellors and presidents in SEC history have been as well-rounded as Ole Miss chancellor Dr. Robert Khayat. Because Khayat — who retires June 30 — played college football (he was a fine placekicker of some of Johnny Vaught’s best teams in the late 1950s), he has an athletic perspective that many chancellors don’t have.
