Melton: Tragic election night fall is sad
The likelihood that controversial incumbent Mayor Frank Melton was going to lose his battle for reelection quickly became secondary to a larger battle Tuesday.
As the polls closed , Melton was rushed to the hospital for a medical emergency. It was reported that he was found unresponsive at his home.
His attorney, John Reeves, said late Tuesday Melton was moving, but specifics of his condition and the prognosis were officially unknown.
What is obvious at this point is that Mayor Melton’s problems now transcend politics, the courts and the court of public opinion.
