Big decision this weekend looming for Varnado, Stansbury
Rick Stansbury has built MSU hoops into a consistent winner the last 11 years as the head basketball coach. This weekend could be one of the biggest in Stansbury’s life. Jarvis Varnado will decide between now and Sunday whether he will test the NBA waters or comes back to Starkville for his senior season.
If Varnado comes back, MSU has a chance to compete for a SEC Championship and possible run in the NCAA tournament. Without Varnado, MSU will be another team trying to get into the NCAAs. Stansbury is due a favor from the Basketball Gods.
Will Varnado come back? If he does, will he be the guy to lead MState to the second weekend of the tournament. If he doesn’t, MState could be the most guard-driven team in the country.
