State Senate Transportation Chairman Tom King said he expects to receive the findings of a background check on highway Director Larry L. “Butch” Brown this week, setting the stage for what could be a contentious public confirmation hearing.
King, R-Petal, said no date for the hearing would be set until he receives the report, but he believes it will be held before the end of the month. At the hearing, expected to held at the Capitol, citizens will be allowed to comment for about five minutes each, King said.
