Plans in place to monitor stimulus money in the state
Mississippi has received just a small portion of the federal stimulus money and already plans are underway to make sure every cent is accounted for.
But it’s a process State Auditor Stacey Pickering says the state has already passed with flying colors.
“It is very worrisome to have $90 million dollars on your hands that you’ve gotta spend,” said Mike Chaney, Mississippi Insurance Commissioner.
That’s Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney who’s department will receive $90 millions dollars for flood mitigation on the coast. But that’s just a small percentage of the two point four to two point eight billion dollars Mississippi will get overall.
