State senators are expected to decide Thursday whether to join House lawmakers in overriding Gov. Haley Barbour’s veto of legislation that strengthens Mississippians’ property rights.
It could be some of their final work at the Capitol before the legislative session recesses. Lawmakers tentatively have agreed to adjourn on Tuesday and return May 4, with the hope they will learn more about how federal stimulus dollars can be used to help shore up the budget.
