Why the Big Ten has fallen

1. The Ohio State Factor: Ohio State has consistently been the best team in the conference over the past five years or so. So when your conference’s best team goes to two national title games and loses them both to SEC teams with better players and superior speed, the rest of the conference suffers. Why do you think Penn State — at 11-1 — couldn’t get higher than No. 8 in the polls in 2008?
