Mississippi State primed for NCAA Tournament
TAMPA, Fla. — Mississippi State basketball coach Rick Stansbury didn’t mind being placed as a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament’s West Regional, having to travel to Portland to play No. 4 seed and Pac-10 regular-season champ Washington on Thursday.
Especially after the Bulldogs had to win Sunday’s Southeastern Conference Tournament final over Tennessee here at St. Pete Times Forum to get the league’s automatic NCAA tourney invitation.
Otherwise, State would have been making plans for the National Invitation Tournament.
