Tommy Tuberville deserves a second chance
Tommy Tuberville has proved he can pull off orange and blue. It’s easy, then, to imagine him in those colors next spring, walking recruits up and down The Green at Virginia rather than The Plains at Auburn.
Can Tubs work with cardinal red? Bet yes, and put him in charge of a Louisville program packed with potential but low on Big East wins.
He’d fit right in with athletic director Tom Jurich and basketball coach Rick Pitino, the three forming the frontcourt on college sports’ all-schmooze team.
Maybe Al Groh and Steve Kragthorpe enjoy fantastic falls and keep their jobs for 2010. If not, Tuberville, the former Auburn head man, should be the first call both their schools make in searching for a replacement. Because somebody, anybody connected with top-tier college football, needs to get Tuberville back in the game.
