FLETCHER ARRESTED ON WEAPONS CHARGE

Biloxi’s Damion Fletcher, Southern Miss’ high-profile running back, was arrested late Sunday night on a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm at his off-campus apartment.
Suddenly the face of Southern Miss football has been thrust into a different type of limelight, which will see Fletcher face disciplinary action by the university, perhaps a suspension for the 2009 season opener.

Brennan Houston, an offensive lineman transfer from Cerritos (Calif.) College, also was arrested; he’s charged with possession of marijuana.
