PARRISH ALFORD:Happy? Hug a coach
If you like what you saw from Ole Miss this football season, hug a coach.
That coach could be Houston Nutt or Ed Orgeron, depending on what you think is the most important element in building a football team.
For all the things that Orgeron did not accomplish in three losing seasons, he did recruit the vast majority of the football team that just completed the 2008 season as one of the best in the nation.
Starters Peria Jerry, Jamarca Sanford, Jason Cook, Maurice Miller and Dustin Mouzon signed with former coach David Cutcliffe.
The presence of Michael Oher may be a shared result of Cutcliffe and Ogeron, but Orgeron himself lured some of the top playmakers like Dexter McCluster, Jevan Snead, Greg Hardy and many others.
Orgeron, who spent this season as an NFL defensive line coach with the Saints, will coach against his Ole Miss players in November in Oxford as part of the staff at Tennessee.
