Another title will lessen pressure on Stoops, Meyer
They ticked off the list of accomplishments for Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops and Florida’s Urban Meyer before their news conference Wednesday and those certainly are some impressive resumes.
The coaches later smiled big while posing for pictures with the BCS National Championship Game trophy, no doubt thinking of their chance to hoist it Jan. 8 at Dolphin Stadium. There were good vibes all around for their media appearance at the Hollywood Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Lose this game, though, and you can bet the defeated coach’s constituents won’t be in the mood to hear about his career achievements. Big-time college football isn’t a place for coaches looking to rest on their laurels.
