Auburn, Tuberville: `We’ll piece it back together’
“We’ve just got to go back to the drawing board and try to get these guys back up again. We’ll piece it back together and try to get it going again.”
That’s what Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said after watching his Tigers fall to West Virginia 34-17 Thursday night.
Here’s a sneak preview of part of the game story that will appear in Friday’s Birmingham News:
Auburn scored on its first three possessions for a 17-3 advantage. What happened next was numbing to the Tigers. West Virginia had 10 plays of 20 or more yards and seven more plays of at least 10 yards in the stunning victory.
Only Georgia has scored more points on Auburn in the last six years.
