Alabama nose tackle Terrence Cody suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee Saturday against Ole Miss, an MRI confirmed Sunday. Though the injury will not require surgery, he is certainly out for this week’s game at Tennessee.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said the 365-pound anchor of his defensive line is “probably going to be out at least two weeks, and then we’ll re-evaluate where he is.”

Josh Chapman now steps into Cody’s starting role, though Saban said Lorenzo Washington, who moved to defensive end from nose tackle in the preseason, could be in the mix to sub in for Chapman.
