Timing may help Tigers lick wounds
Timing can be just as important as talent, and it appears that intangible is working in Auburn’s favor.
If ever there was an opponent more suited for a situation, certainly Arkansas visiting Auburn this weekend is a gift-wrapped opponent for the Tigers at just the right time.
If not for Tennessee’s ineptitude — the Vols were barely able to put away Northern Illinois at home on Saturday — Auburn would be the most puzzling and disappointing SEC team through the first half of the season. The expected shot in the arm with the Tigers’ move to the spread offense has been more a case of them shooting themselves in the foot. There is no consistency, no direction and no confidence, which has led to no punch.
