Injured Wildcats test ailing ankles in drills

University of Kentucky linebacker Micah Johnson, quarterback/wide receiver Randall Cobb and defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin still are listed as doubtful for Saturday’s game against Alabama.

But coach Rich Brooks expects to have a better handle on their health today.
Johnson, Cobb and Lumpkin, all of whom suffered high ankle sprains against Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 13 and missed last week’s game against Western Kentucky, went through drills to test their ankles yesterday.
“We’ll see how they respond tomorrow, see if it gets real sore or not,” Brooks said. “None of them are close to 100 percent. It’s not even in that ballpark. Whether they can be functional or not is the question.”
