Happy homecoming for McCluster

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No one was sicker to his stomach last week than Dexter McCluster, whose fumble at the goal line helped Vanderbilt escape Oxford with a 20-17 win. He’ll sleep better this week, following a 31-30 win at No. 4 Florida.

“It feels great,” McCluster said. “We played hard all game and never gave up. It feels great to come back here and win. I’m a Florida boy.”
McCluster finished with 60 yards on 11 carries. The biggest of those 40 came when the Largo, Fla., native, on third-and-2 from the 40, took a direct snap from the “Wild Rebel” and carried it to the end zone to give the Rebels their second lead of the game, 24-17 with 52 second to go in the third quarter, the 17th unanswered point of the quarter.
Ole Miss didn’t hesitate to use the “Wild Rebel” on Saturday, going to it on numerous occasions with McCluster and freshman back Brandon Bolden taking the snaps.

I didn’t think we’d run the “Wild Rebel” that much, but when the call is called, I’m ready,” McCluster said.
