Croom knows MSU faces an angry Auburn

Mississippi State kept things fairly simple in striking for a 19-14 upset of the Auburn Tigers last season at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The Bulldogs attempted only 18 passes, completing five of them. They had to play three quarterbacks, because of injury. And Wesley Carroll became the team’s quarterback of the future, guiding State on the fourth-quarterback touchdown drive that put the Bulldogs on the fast track to an 8-5 season.

Mississippi State gets a chance to make a similar statement tonight, when the Bulldogs (1-1) play host to ninth-ranked Auburn (2-0) at MSU’s Scott Field. The game marks the SEC debut for both teams.
The Tigers are 10½-point favorites. State stumbled through the second half of its first game, a 22-14 loss at Louisiana Tech, before bouncing back with a 34-10 victory over Division I-AA Southeastern Louisiana.
In other words, there’s a lot of unknowns.
