OLE MISS:Rebels seniors quickly buy into Nutt’s grand plan

OXFORD – Houston Nutt didn’t have to go door to door, but he did have a product to sell.
Fortunately, his customer base was gathered as a captive audience.
He acknowledged their lack of recent success, the team’s fourth-year seniors with just three SEC wins, and told them things could be different at Ole Miss.
Most fortunately for Nutt, his customers were buying.
“He came in and talked to us on that first day. We looked at him. We listened,” senior wide receiver Mike Wallace said at the Rebels’ media day Tuesday. “We feel like he’s a man of his word and can take us where we want to go. We bought into him real fast.”

For Ole Miss players, it was their first experience with Nutt, who had gained a reputation at Arkansas for rallying his players and for getting them to perform – and often win – in big games.
