Favre applies pressure

Green Bay – After frenzied developments on Friday, it appears the Brett Favre saga is rapidly approaching two likely endgames:

Either Favre will be traded by the start of training camp, or one otherworldly circus will engulf the Green Bay Packers come Monday.
A National Football League source familiar with the Packers and Favre said the Packers had been told by the player and his agent, James “Bus” Cook, that Favre intends to file for reinstatement and report to training camp next week.
If Favre shows up in a Packers uniform for the first training camp practice Monday, he knows that Aaron Rodgers is still the starter.
It’s unclear whether general manager Ted Thompson or coach Mike McCarthy told Favre personally that nothing had changed with the quarterback situation, but according to an NFL source with knowledge of the situation, Favre is aware of the Packers’ thinking.
