Former state Sen. Mike Gunn apologized to officers for lying to them about gassing seven Canada goslings in a backyard grill after hiding the dead birds from them at his home, according to an incident report filed hours after authorities left.
The report, obtained through a public records request by The Clarion-Ledger, also says Gunn told officers with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks that he “hated geese but loved ducks.”
In a multi-page, typed report after being with Gunn for three hours on April 25, officer Randy Newell also says Gunn provided law enforcement an expired driver’s license – listing him as a senator – because Gunn wanted officers “to be aware that he used to be in the Senate.”
