USM FINDING A WAY UNDER CORKY PALMER

HATTIESBURG –Southern Miss continues to reach new heights on and off the baseball field under coach Corky Palmer.
On the field the Golden Eagles will play in a school-record sixth consecutive NCAA regional this weekend at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.
Southern Miss, one of 13 teams in the nation to play in six or more straight regionals, enters the Baton Rouge Regional as the No. 2 seed sporting a 40-20 record after a second-place finish in Conference USA.

Off the field, Southern Miss ranks in the top 10 percent of the nation in the Academic Progress Rate for its players.

This season marked the sixth straight that the Golden Eagles drew more than 100,000 fans to Pete Taylor Park, which features 12 state-of-the-art suites ranging from $15,000 and $17,000 – and there’s a waiting list.
