Petrino still feeling his way

DESTIN, Fla. — To be truthful, Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino still appears guarded, although he says he feels at home in his new job and feels good about his first spring practice in Fayetteville.

In many ways, that’s understandable. After all, the former Auburn offensive coordinator and Louisville head coach was roundly criticized for leaving as head coach of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons before completing his first season there to take the Arkansas job.

Looking back on the abrupt departure, the late-night press conference announcing his hiring at Arkansas and the criticism, Petrino has a comparison. Asked if he could relate his experiences to a dream sequence or anything else, Petrino asked, “Have you ever seen the movie ‘Misery?'”
