U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., said Wednesday he would consider a second round of congressionally authorized stimulation for the nation’s ailing economy, including possible tax credits for home purchases and additional infrastructure funding.
“I would be open to discussing another plan with a possible housing component and infrastructure spending,” Wicker said.
Wicker, in a teleconference with reporters, said a second stimulus is under discussion among congressional leaders.
Delivery and direct deposit of stimulus checks authorized earlier this year by Congress and President Bush began this week for 117 million taxpayers.
