Former Jackson Police Chief Shirlene Anderson is officially back on the city’s payroll but won’t get paid for work she has done for the city this year.
Anderson, removed as chief in November by Mayor Frank Melton, apparently has been working for Melton since mid-January — without pay. Melton promises to seek back pay, though the City Council president said he has heard nothing about that.
