SCRUGGS-BACKSTROM CASE: Jurors will be nameless, for both sides

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 7, 2008

Jurors will be nameless, for both sides

Jurors will be summoned without names, addresses and places of employment for possible duty in the judicial bribery case that’s ensnared Oxford attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and two others.

Senior Judge Neal Biggers approved the government’s motion for an “anonymous” jury Thursday.

Biggers said, in his ruling, the court will provide defendants and the government “with a wealth of information” about the jurors – they just won’t know who they are.
