Here’s the skinny on fat folks’ legislation

As a professional journalist I believe it is incumbent upon me, in my role as snarling watchdog in the employ of the average Mississippian, to point out that Rep. Steve Holland, D-Plantersville, is a dirty rotten crooked politician.

But, at the same time, in the interest of fairness, a fine story-teller and a consummate mortician – not a single complaint from his clientele in all these years.

Anyway, let’s move along to House Bill 282, which Holland, in his position as chairman of the Public Health and Human Services Committee in the House, has promised to kill.

“It’s dead on arrival at my desk,” Holland told The Clarion-Ledger.
