HOPKINS Inducted Into Inaugural Class of
Delta State Hall of Fame
Cleveland, MS – The Alumni Association of Delta State University
inducted Republican candidate for Attorney General Major General (R)
Al Hopkins into their Alumni Hall of Fame as a part of recent
Homecoming activities. Named an “Outstanding Alumnus of the Year” in
1991, Hopkins was selected as a part of the inaugural class of
inductees. He attended Delta State from 1959-63 on a basketball
scholarship and has since served as President of the Alumni
Association.
“It’s humbling to receive this high honor from a place close to my
heart where I learned much about dedication and hard work,” said
Hopkins. “The values I learned then, growing up on my family farm,
and during my time in the military, are the values sadly missing from
the Attorney General’s office today. It’s why we must hire a new
Attorney General who will ensure that the people of Mississippi are
treated fairly and justly and that corruption is rooted out of our
government.”
