In a surprise move, Jesus has waded into the political fray in the 2007 election and has endorsed John Arthur Eaves, Jr., according to Robert Parham, who is executive director of the Baptist Center for Ethics.
From the endorsement . . .
I know many Mississippians would think that I would support Haley Barbour whose party has consistent supported life, less government intrusion into the lives of my followers, and job creation that helps build strong families. However, due to Junior’s (I call him Junior) overwhelming invocation of my Holy name, I didn’t really feel I had a choice. The clear choice in this race (to avoid eternal damnation) is to vote for John Arthur Eaves, Jr.
It is unclear, at press time, whether the Baptist Center for Ethics will follow on with their endorsement for Eaves.
