Campaigns go high-tech

By: Magnolia Tribune - September 21, 2007

Running a modern election campaign means more than just knocking on doors and placing signs in yards.

Today, many candidates have fully functioning Web sites complete with video, photos and the option of donating money with a few clicks of a mouse.

Locally, these Web sites are just now catching on, with a handful of candidates for offices like supervisor and superintendent of education staking claims on the Web. Meanwhile, more visible offices like secretary of state, lieutenant governor and governor are hotly contested on the Internet.
