Franks has nothing to gain with Eaves

Mississippi Republicans are running a tight ticket this year, and they’re already busy creating the impression that the Democrats are doing the same. “Conservative Republicans versus liberal Democrats,” is the way Gov. Haley Barbour summarized it.

Aside from what exactly the definition of “liberal” might be as applied to the Democratic statewide nominees – GOP lieutenant governor nominee Phil Bryant had a hard time delineating his differences with Jamie Franks the day after the primary election – it’s clear that the two men at the top of the Democratic slate have no intention of wrapping their candidacies in the same package.
