Another Open Letter to Donna Ladd

By: Magnolia Tribune - August 9, 2007

NOT SATIRE

Donna,

In the immortal words of Yogi Berra, it’s deja vu all over again.

You have again taken the privilege of the ad supported forum to potshot me, and you don’t even have the courtesy or the courage to do it by name. You thought better of your “post” on Saturday (probably because your take was bogus), but left the string open obviously in the desperate hope that someone would find it and pile on (which, of course, now they probably will).

Donna, we’ve been through this. The only way I know to operate is transparently, so let’s do this . . . let’s just print on both of our sites all of the super-secret-agent-Orange-off-the-record-pinky-swear-caveated emails you have sent me (and everyone around me) and all of the let’s-take-out-an-ad-in-the-New-York-Times-publish-this-or-send-this-anywhere-you-want-to emails I have sent you in reply along with recordings of our personal phone conversations, if available, and let the folks decide who has the dark, sinister intentions you are attempting to convey on me. I am and remain an open book.

As to your specific assertions in your “editorial”, Yes, I think your politics are messed up. Big deal. I hang out, do business with, respect and have the respect of a ton of folks that fall into that category. And, Yes, I also “disapprove” of you personally not because of your vocation or the things you say you represent but because I have an inbox full of reasons to do so. The fact remains, I will not be cowed by innuendo, threat of lawsuit or whatever else someone dreams up. I call ’em like I see ’em (by name) in my personal life and otherwise.

Ball is in your courtm ma’am. I will be awaiting your super secret email in reply.

Regards,
Alan

P.S. Have a nice day.
