But the most frequent topic of debate in the GOP primary battle has been whether Bryant or Ross would be more supportive of Republican Gov. Haley Barbour.
Franks, on the other hand, has used his uncontested Democratic primary to repeat often that he is not afraid to disagree with Barbour and plans to do so on issues like Medicaid, public education and the state’s tax structure.
For his part, Barbour has stayed above the contentious GOP primary battle between Ross and Bryant.
“They are two good men who have both done a very good job in the positions they are in now,” Barbour told The Hattiesburg American on Monday.
